Saturday 7 October - Hawks visit Malleny Park KO 3pm
First of all congratulations to Luke Crosbie on selection to the Edinburgh squad for the fixture against Zebre. Well deserved recognition and we are certain this will be the start to a successful professional career. Best wishes, Luke , from everyone at Malleny

We welcome Glasgow Hawks to Malleny Park for the League fixtures aginst Currie Chieftains and Currie Chieftains A.

Ben’s comments on selection and the game
‘There is a reshuffle in the front row which sees John Cox and Duncan Ferguson both start having played well off the bench last weekend. Kris Burney and Graeme Carson move to the bench. It is great to see Luke Crosbie getting an opportunity with Edinburgh Rugby, Stephen Ainslie replaces him at 6 and Scott McGinley gets a deserved start in the back row with Rhys Davies moving the other way. The backline sees Jamie Forbes show off his versatility moving to 9 for Charlie Shiel who is rested by Edinburgh Rugby and Adam Hastings starts at 10 having been released by Glasgow Warriors.
It was a tough day at the office last weekend at The Greenyards. We simply were not good enough against the form team in the league. The players understand we have been the architects of our own downfall in our last two outings and we have worked hard this week on how we can improve the consistency of our performance. Hawks have had a solid start to the season with some excellent performances they will be buoyed by the first year pros they have available to them this weekend and we know we will have to bring a much improved performance if we are to get our campaign back on track.
