Saturday 23 September – Currie Chieftains and Colts at home
First of all, congratulations to Harvey Elms on his selection on a part-time basis to the Scotland 7’s squad for the coming season. Harvey is a talented and stylish player, well deserved recognition and we are sure he will feature on the park over the next few months.

We welcome Ayr 1st and 2nd XV’s to Malleny Park on Saturday for the respective League fixtures against Currie Chieftains and Currie Chieftains A. KO for both games is 3pm. We also have the Colts at home who are playing West of Scotland U18 on Santerfield – KO 2pm. – and a welcome to them as well.

Car parking at Malleny Park will be busy and please use the car park at the High School and should you be parking on the main road outside the Club entrance please do so on one side of the road only to enable buses to pass through.

Ben’s comments on the Chieftains selection and the game
‘After scraping through last weekend we look to freshen up the squad by rewarding a few deserving players with a starting opportunity. Kris Burney comes in at prop for John Cox, Matt O’Neil for Charlie Shiel and Glen Faulds for Cammy Gray. On the bench, Graeme Carson and Scott McGinley come back in after missing out last weekend but having performed well for the ‘A’ team.
Different conditions brought about a different type of win last time out but a wins a win as they say. Ayr would have hoped for a better start to the season but with the squad they have I am sure the corner will be turned soon - we are hoping it is not this weekend at Malleny. There has been a very good rivalry between the two sides over the years with a number of similarities between the two clubs. We are looking forward to getting back out at Malleny and will do our best to maintain our unbeaten start to the season.’
As Ben says we have had a great start to the season with 3 wins out of 3 and the players are looking for a large Currie support at Malleny as they go into the match looking to keep it going.
