Ben’s comments on selection and the game

‘It’s been great to have some very tough decisions to make regarding selection this week. With our U20s back in the fold and a few players making a timely return from injury there have been a few difficult conversations. Four of our five Scotland U20 representatives return with three in the starting side. Mike Vernel and Scott McGinley are two of the most unfortunate to miss out on a start but we will expect them to make a huge impact off the bench when called upon. Finally, it is great to see Cameron Gray come back into the squad having pushed himself through his rehab ahead of schedule to get back just in the nick of time.

Having visited The Greenyards twice already this season we know how difficult a place it is to go and get a result. Melrose have threats all over the pitch who can sting you in the blink of an eye so we know we need to remain focused in our defensive efforts for the full 80 minutes. However, we go with confidence having been in good form of late and feel our preparations have went well. With pace throughout both backlines and with both teams having a real positive attitude on how to play the game I would expect it to be a very entertaining match for what we hope will be a bumper crowd.’
