U14: update 26 March 2017
Hello

It was a warm welcome at GHA today. The rugby was testing and competitive, the weather glorious and the hospitality very generous.

The boys deserve credit for many aspects of the game, and there were some stand-out performances. But it was a team effort in very warm conditions and the fitness of both teams was given a good test. We need to work on a number of aspects of the game as we move towards the remaining training sessions and thereafter tournaments and touring teams. The boys know where they need to improve which is in itself positive.

The final score today was GHA RFC 12-23 Currie RFC. Cullen and Hardie put on the tries (4 and 2 respectively) with Sayers having a bliner with the boot slotting 5 from 6. It was a tight, hard-fought for win but more important was the development lessons learned. Many thanks to our hosts for their sport and hospitality.

This week's notes are as follows:

* Training is on Malleny 3G at 18.00 on Tuesday. This is our last 3G session before reverting to grass pitches on 4 April. Start time when we move to grass is TBA.

* With the Easter holidays upon us we will be focusing on Sunday training and possibly some sevens sessions. Training will be on 2/4 and 9/4 with a break from egg-chasing for egg-rolling on Easter Sunday (16/4).

* Our next competitive rugby is at Edinburgh Accies/BATS for their International Tournament on Friday 21 April at c.17.00. Please let me know of unavailability as soon as possible.

* Early notice: training on Sunday 23 April will be at 11.00 until 12.30 at Currie HS (grass pitch). This is to allow any players and coaches that want to go to the mini-tournament, possibly to get a preview of the new Currie Chieftans' kit!

* Very many thanks to everyone who responded re. visit of FC Montpellier. Can those that haven't yet let me know get in touch? I'd also be grateful if 2/3 people could help me co-ordinate with Angie Muir. Shouldn't take long. Catching up at Malleny during training this Tuesday.

* Finally, we have had a great response to the Players' Player of the Year. There are 9 players still to vote so please do so when you can.

Cheers
